This is my first memoir and auto-biography that I read voluntarily which I’m not regretting at all. I have, however, read another biography for a number of reason, and I cant relate more to other biography than this one especially with the fact that Carrie in the storie was at the same age as me right now. I know this is my first post in this new platform and I don’t want to be all touchy. However, as this is a biography, I can’t help to talk a bit of myself. So, bear with me
I guess the beauty of this book is that it can touch each people differently. Personally, I really relate with the issues Carrie were struggling in the book. As I’m turning nineteen, I realise that I’m still struggling with some of the issues I had when I’m younger and it’s very confusing for me because I know people expect me to be more mature. The fact that Carrie had to cope with the very same feeling is really helping me to cope with it as well and I really hope it can help go through with this so called “transition age
Another thing I love about the book is definitely the writing. And the boldness. Yes, the boldness. Carrie was very funny and very bittersweet in her writing. She really expressed her feeling in certain way so people can easily understand it and still eager to keep reading it. And the best part, shes very honest about all of it. She told her stories very truthfully without justification or sugar coat. And I think thats why the book is so relatable. I mean, how can you relate to a rich genius man when most of the population are just basic
......
Anyway, I think this books is definitely recommended for young girls, both younger and older than 19. The thing is, the book not only show us the 19 year old Carrie, but how her 40 years older self saw her younger version. So she really address the issues she was struggling with and give advice for the young girls right now at the same time. By the way, if you think I’m a Star Wars fans , then you are true. but that’s not the reason why I love this book, it’s just the truest and barest book I’ve ever read
